Overview


The island of Bali in Indonesia is a great place to holiday not just for its beaches and scenery, but also for its temples. Take a trip to Ulun Danu, an amazing eleven-tier thatched roof Buddhist temple. You will find beautifully landscaped gardens with an abundance of flowering plants around the temple. Admire the beauty of the huge offshore sentinel rock of Tanah Lot that supports a small sea temple. The temple is believed to be guarded by large sea snakes that reside in caves below the waterline.

For a flavour of life in an artisan village, take a trip to the villages of Celuk famous for its gold and silver jewellery making and Mas known for its intricate wood carvings. Your Balinese excursion will be truly memorable!

Itinerary
Day 1
At 0800h / 08:00 am: You will be picked up in an air conditioned coach from your hotel in south Bali (Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Kuta or Seminyak). Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide (English / German / Spanish / Dutch), you will be driven past unspoilt countryside, through thick tropical forest beneath Mount Batukaru to the Luhur temple and the rice terraces at Jatiluwih. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Baturiti.

• Continue to the Candi Kuning fruit and flower market with its exotic wild orchids, roses and strawberries.
• Next, stop in Bedugul , an attractive mountain resort located 850 metres above sea level.
• Visit the Ulun Danu Temple . It is a beautiful 17th century temple on the shore of lake Beratan, dedicated to Dewi Danu – the goddess of water.
• Continue your trip by following the road with a scenic side trip through the charming little village of Munduk , home to Bali’s coffee plantations. Enjoy a coffee break in Munduk.
• Drive to Brahmavihara Arama , Bali’s only Buddhist monastery which is vaguely Buddhist-looking with colourful decoration, a bright orange roof and statues of Buddha. The place also has a hot spring originating from volcanic activities.

Proceed to Lovina for hotel check-in. Dinner (at your own cost) and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 2
0530h / 05.30 am: Set out on a dolphin trip in a small boat. After early morning dolphin spotting, return back to your hotel for a hot shower and breakfast.

• After breakfast, depart by minivan for sightseeing to Candi Dasa. En route visit the Sangsit village , a few kilometres east of Singaraja.
• Visit the Subak temple dedicated to goddess Dewi Sri, who is believed to look after the irrigated rice fields in the region. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
• Continue to Besakih temple , also known as the ‘Mother Temple of Bali’, on the slopes of the holy Mount Agung and Putung.

Proceed to your hotel in Candi Dasa area. Have your dinner (at your own cost) and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 3
0800h / 08:00 am: After breakfast, depart in a minivan for a sightseeing tour to Ubud.

• On your way, visit the Tenganan village occupied by the Bali Aga people, descendents of the original Balinese who inhabited Bali prior to the Majapahit arrival. The village is surrounded by a wall and consists of two rows of identical houses stretching up the gentle slop of the hill.
• Continue to Goa Lawah, the bat cave temple on the face of the cliff full of bats.
• Further on, visit Kertha Gosa . It is a beautiful park built in the 17th century, the courtyard and floating temple were formerly a part of the Semarapura Palace of the Klungkung kingdom. The court-hall was once used as a royal assembly area for the kings of Bali.
• Proceed to see the gamelan home industry in Tihingan Village .
• Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Puri Boga restaurant. After lunch, continue to Bangli and visit the Kehen Temple which is one of the largest temples in Bali. The temple is renowned for its stone carvings. The temple is terraced up the hillside, with a great flight of steps leading to the beautifully decorated entrance.

Afterwards, proceed to your hotel in Ubud. Have dinner (at your own cost) and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 4
0900h / 09:00 am: After breakfast, depart in a minivan for a sightseeing tour of Sanur.

• On the way, visit the 17th century holy-spring Gunung Kawi temple at Sebatu.
• Proceed to the artisan villages of Celuk and Mas , known as the centre of Balinese gold and silver jewellery industry and wood carvings respectively.
• Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Further on, visit Taman Ayun , the former royal temple of Mengwi.
• Further on, visit the Tanah Lot temple , built in a rock overlooking the scenic west coast of Bali and Indian Ocean.

Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your hotel in south Bali (Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Kuta Seminyak and Canggu) or to the airport for your onward flight.

Standard:
Day 1 – Lovina: Aneka Lovina Hotel - Located just few minutes walk from the famous white sandy Kuta Beach, the Hotel Aneka Kuta is set amidst lush tropical gardens. Superior:
