Itinerary
Day 1 |
Upon arrival at Medan airport, you will be met by an English-speaking guide and taken on a 4-hour drive to Lake Toba. Enjoy the views of the countryside on your way. Arrive at Parapat, a famous lake resort on the east shore of Lake Toba. From Parapat, take a 45-minute boat ride to Samosir island situated in the middle of Lake Toba. From here, you will be taken to Toledo Inn to check-in. The hotel has 150 well-equipped rooms, a restaurant, bar and coffee shop and water sport facilities among others. It also holds musical shows presented by the vocal group of Batak youths. |
Day 2 |
After breakfast, take a trip around Samosir Island on a motorboat and enjoy the scenic beauty. En route, visit Ambarita, an old village with ancient megalithic furniture. Proceed to Simanindo and see Batak folkdance performance and children learning in school. Continue to Tomok village, where you will see the stone tomb of king Sidabutar. Return back to your hotel in Samosir and spend the night. |
Day 3 |
After breakfast, take a boat ride on Lake Toba and reach Parapat. Continue on a drive to Brastagi, a highland resort with pleasant climate and splendid mountain scenery. En route, visit Pematang Purba and see a 200-year-old king’s palace built by the Simalungun Batak. Further on, visit the Sipiso-piso waterfall that emerges from an underground river in the Karo plateau and cascades 120 metres off a sheer cliff into the ravine below. Proceed to Peceren, a Batak Karo village with a number of traditional houses. Stroll around the fruit market of Brastagi, after which you will be taken to Grand Mutiara hotel to check-in. The hotel has 123 fully-equipped rooms with 24-hour room service, piano lounge, billiard centre, souvenir shop, a restaurant, coffee shop, swimming pool and a beautiful garden. Spend the night at your hotel. |
Day 4 |
After breakfast, take a drive downhill to Bohorok and enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery. Upon arrival at Bohorok, take a stroll along the river side and hike up the hill through Sumatra rainforest. Visit the feeding site of orang-utans and spend some time observing them. After meeting the orang-utans, walk back to the assembly point. From here, you will be driven back to Medan and taken to Tiara Hotel to check-in. The hotel is located in the downtown area of Medan. It has well-equipped air-conditioned rooms, fitness centre, souvenir shop, restaurant serving Chinese, Western, Indonesian and other Asian cuisine, bar and lounge and all modern amenities. Spend the night at your hotel. |
Day 5 |
After breakfast, you are at leisure until appropriate time for departure to the airport for your onward flight. |
