Itinerary
Day 1
Upon your arrival at Medan airport, you will be met by an English-speaking guide and taken in a car to Brastagi (approximately 2 hours). It is a highland resort with pleasant climate and splendid mountain scenery. En route, visit Peceren, a Batak Karo village with a number of traditional houses. Stroll around the fruit market of Brastagi, after which you will be taken to Grand Mutiara hotel to check-in. The hotel has 123 fully-equipped rooms with 24-hour room service, piano lounge, billiard centre, souvenir shop, a restaurant, coffee shop, swimming pool and a beautiful garden. Spend the night at your hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast, leave Brastagi for Parapat, a famous lake resort on the east of Toba. En route, visit the Sipiso-piso waterfall that emerges from an underground river in the Karo plateau and cascades 120 metres off a sheer cliff into the ravine below. Further on, proceed to Pematang Purba to visit a 200-year-old king’s palace built by the Simalungun Batak.

Arrive at Parapat, take a 45-minute boat ride on Lake Toba to reach Samosir Island. You will be taken to Toledo Inn on Samosir Island. The hotel has 150 well-equipped rooms, a restaurant, bar and coffee shop and water sport facilities among others. It also holds musical shows presented by the vocal group of Batak youths.
Day 3
After breakfast, take a trip around Samosir Island on a motorboat and enjoy the scenic beauty. En route, visit Ambarita, an old village with ancient megalithic furniture. Proceed to Simanindo and see Batak folkdance performance and children learning in school. Continue to Tomok village, where you will see the stone tomb of king Sidabutar. Return back to your hotel in Samosir and spend the night.
Day 4
After breakfast, cross Lake Toba in a boat and reach Parapat. Continue on a 4-hour drive to Medan and enjoy views of the countryside. After arriving in Medan, you will be taken to the airport for your onward flight.
